We at Atharva Foundation have recognised and realised the fact that gender bias and discrimination against women is still a powerful negative force in significant percentages of our Indian population.
Women need to be empowered by thought, by conviction, by action. That is the path of great change. We aim to bring about this change in the lives of those Indian women who do not get their rights.
Women empowerment refers to improving the social, economic, political and legal strength of the women, to ensure equal-right to women, and to make them confident enough to claim their rights. Atharva Foundation will work towards the upliftment of the less fortunate women in our country.

- - According to UNDP Human Development Report (2014), 88% of pregnant women (age 15-49) were found to be anemic. India has a dangerously imbalanced sex ratio, the chief reason being female infanticides and sex-selective abortions. According to UNICEF’s “State of the World’s Children - 2014” report, 47% of India's women aged 20–24 were married before the legal age of 18 and 18% of India’s girl children are married before the age of 15.
